Today's puzzle
Today's Darkwaar is The Lamp.
The Lamp is a small deterministic puzzle built around a simple tension: the light that shows the door is the same light that shows the watcher where to step.
How to play
The room is 25 cells. Most of them stay dark. A faint grid is the map.
- The lamp lights your cell, the cell ahead, and the cell beyond that
- A wall stops the ray. The wall is visible. The cell behind it stays dark
- Turn left or right, or step forward onto a lit floor
- A step into the dark is refused, and the beat does not advance
- After every accepted turn or step, the watcher moves into the first lit floor beside it
- That step is the first side, in the order up, right, down, left
- If none of those cells is lit, the watcher stays
- Step onto the door while it is lit to win
- If the watcher enters your cell, you lose
- Restart, or R, begins again

The core
The cone is only three cells long, and a wall ends it early. Turning spends a beat even when you do not move, so the watcher can enter a cell you just lit.
One line reaches the door. The lamp has to sweep the watcher's cell, then turn away before the last step, so the door is lit and the watcher has nowhere to go. One extra step toward the wall at the top of that column lights the floor under the watcher, and it steps onto you.
