Darkwaar is an experiment in creating and publishing small playable ideas regularly.
Today's puzzle
Today's Darkwaar is Pigment.
One die sits on a small board. Tip it onto a neighboring cell. The face that lands stains that cell, and only that cell. Two primary colors mix into a secondary. White wipes a stain, including a sealed one.
How to play
The board is five by five. Five levels. A level ends when every marked cell is the color it asks for.
- The die has six faces: null, black, red, blue, yellow, and white
- Null is opposite black, red is opposite blue, and yellow is opposite white
- Null leaves the cell as it is. White clears it. Black seals it
- Red, yellow, and blue paint an empty cell
- Red and yellow make orange. Red and blue make purple. Yellow and blue make green
- The same primary twice changes nothing. A primary on a mixed color, or on a sealed cell, seals it
- A mark is a ring and a letter, so the goal is not carried by the hue alone
- Cells without a mark may end as any stain
- Tap a neighboring cell or the direction pad under the board to tip the die
- Undo steps back, including after a failed board. Restart starts the level again
- A tip off the board is refused, and it does not spend a move
- Next appears when the marks hold. After the fifth board, the die rests
The row under the board is the die laid flat: the center is the face on the floor, and the four arms are the faces that would land.

The five boards
The first board is one tip. East is yellow, and the mark wants yellow.
The second board asks for green on that same cell. Green is not on the die. Yellow has to land, then blue has to come back to it.
The third board keeps the green, and it also wants the cell you started on to be yellow. The order of the tips is the puzzle.
The fourth board asks for orange, one cell down. Red and yellow have to meet there.
The fifth board starts with a sealed cell. The path that paints the yellow mark also turns the black face onto that seal, and the last tip is white, which clears it.
What it is not
Earlier Darkwaar boards hop, aim a lamp, or push a single piece. Pigment does not add a second actor. The die is the piece and the paint. The orientation is the memory.
