Darkwaar39 - Tilewake

Every step spends the tile.

Play

Darkwaar is an experiment in creating and publishing small playable ideas regularly. The 39th game, Tilewake, turns movement into the build: each step claims a power and voids the tile forever.

Spent tiles

Coral tiles raise Strike. Teal tiles raise Guard. Sand tiles refund a step. Empty ground still scars when you leave it. The path you walk cannot be walked twice, so every detour is a commitment.

An isometric Tilewake board with coral Strike tiles, teal Guard tiles, a gold player, and a magenta foe

Still foes

Enemies wait until you engage. Tap an adjacent foe to strike; if they survive, they counter—softer when you have Guard. Clear the kill quota, then stand on the gold exit with enough Strike to finish the board.

Three boards, then seeds

Three authored boards teach the pressure of irreversible geometry. After that, seeded maps keep the same rules with new layouts. Undo is always available; Restart resets the current scar.

Play Tilewake

Tap adjacent tiles. Claim coral, teal, and sand. Burn the path. Strike when you must. Reach the gold exit.
