Today's puzzle

Today's Darkwaar is Shrinking Field.

Eight bodies. One shrinking battlefield. Every move exposes an angle, every shot commits to a trajectory, and every turn makes the arena smaller.

How to play

  • Tap MOVE, then a green tile. One step
  • Tap FIRE, then a line. The shot travels after the other bodies move
  • A wall stops a step and stops a shot
  • A shot already in the air keeps going. The bright tile is where it lands this turn
  • The marked ring goes dark on a later turn. Standing there then costs health
  • The count starts at 8 LEFT. Last body standing is WIN. Your death is LOSS
  • Tap the banner to start again

The core

Position. Predict. Fire. Take cover. Survive.

The board is a grid. The diamond is only how it is drawn. Walls are cells. A shot is a line of cells that moves two steps after everyone has chosen, and then again on the next turns, until a wall or a body ends it. Firing is a commitment you can see coming, including when it is coming for you.

The square shrinks on a schedule. The ring that will go dark is marked first. Staying behind a wall can put you in that ring. Stepping out can put you on a line. That is the match.

Development note

Eleven by eleven, eight bodies, one action a turn. A headless run of 480 turns costs about 61 ms.
