Play

Darkwaar is an experiment in creating and publishing small playable ideas regularly.

Today's puzzle

Today's Darkwaar is Anglecut.

A compact night board. Cyan marks your facing. Orange marks theirs. Floors stay walkable - the danger is ending a turn inside a guard's gaze.

How to play

Three authored levels. One rule.

  • Swipe or tap a neighboring cell to step. Facing follows the step
  • Tap the Turn buttons when you need a new heading without moving
  • Wait when a rotating guard needs a beat
  • Orange cones are catch zones after each resolve. Cyan is your own facing, for readability
  • Reach the glowing exit. If the exit sits inside a cone on that turn, you still lose
  • Undo and Restart are available on-screen

Introduction teaches the cone. Timing asks you to wait. Crossfire pairs two gazes with a short maze.

Gaze, not light

Earlier Darkwaar boards used lamps that redefine legal floors. Anglecut keeps every floor open. The cone is information and catch, not a path filter. That single change is the whole experiment.

Guards follow short authored schedules: wait, rotate, or step. Every player action advances those schedules one tick. Deterministic. No luck - positioning and timing.
